2.3.1. Installation for the voraus.core
The following chapter describes the installation of the voraus.core software. Please select the section corresponding to your setup, whether it is a physical robot or a virtual instance.
Note
Prerequisite for all physical robots
This installation guide starts where the commissioning of the robot by the manufacturer ends. It assumes that:
The robot and its control cabinet are mounted, wired, and powered up according to the manufacturer’s documentation.
The controller boots without errors and the robot is referenced (mastered).
The robot can be moved with the operating options provided by the manufacturer, that is, the teach panel and the default controller software.
You are familiar with the basic operation of the robot through the teach panel, such as switching the operating mode and starting and stopping programs.
Only from this point on can the following instructions be applied. If one of these conditions is not met, complete the commissioning as described in the original manufacturer’s documentation first. These prerequisites do not apply to a virtual instance of the voraus.core.
The robot controller is connected to an industrial PC running the voraus.core. This can either be a voraus.ipc with a preinstalled voraus.core or a custom system running the voraus.core. In the following sections, the term voraus.ipc refers to the PC on which the voraus.core runs, regardless of whether it is a voraus.ipc or a custom system.
